  • The Annual Black Heritage Festival

Taking place at the Lake Charles Civic Center, entertainers will perform gospel, Zydeco, blues, spoken word, and more on the Kids and Main Stages. Food booths will serve plenty of great tasting Louisiana Creole and traditional African-American foods, including gumbo, jambalaya, and barbecue. The vendor marketplace will be open with an array of art, books, jewelry, African artifacts, clothing, collectibles, Greek paraphernalia, and more. Louisiana’s BHF mission is to develop, expose and enhance audiences to the arts and culture of African Americans, and provide arts and humanities opportunities to all citizens, thereby, expanding tourism opportunities to our diverse regional population. Over many years the inclusion of the Black Heritage Pageant, Entertainment Hall of Fame, and Black Heritage Gallery has served to continue the growth of the Black Heritage Festival.

  • Lake Charles, LA Marshland Festival

This festival originated to support the community, especially kids, through non-profit organizations.
